June 2026 Fishing Report

Hello fellow anglers. June 2026, another hot summer on its way. June in S.W. Florida is the best Tarpon fishing in the world. Boca Grande is known all over the world as the Tarpon capital. There are thousands and thousands of Tarpon and sharks that show up for the feeding frenzy. The Tarpon migrate from the Caribbean to the Gulf of America. Along the way they come into the estuaries to find food. Charlotte Harbor being the second larges estuary on the West coast. Rough measurements Charlotte Harbor North to South is about 20 miles , and East to West it is about 10 miles. There are lots of mangroves and grass areas throughout. So it is a huge nursery for the smaller fish to grow up in. As we know daily there are tides that flow in and out, and Boca Grande is roughly a mile wide. So with the waters flowing in and out this is a food funnel where the Tarpon have learned to come to and get nourishment to travel out into the Gulf to spawn. And fishing the pass is crowded at times and can be a bit krazy!  But there are plenty of Tarpon that come up into the estuaries. And there are tarpon that like the beaches to forage for food . So there are 3 general areas to target tarpon , your choice. You can do the live bait you can do the artificial thing including the fly thing. There are lots of anglers that come from all over the world to fish in our back yard. And we still have the opportunity to fish for reds, snook, and trout inshore. You may even complete your grand slam inshore. And this month getting out past 70 feet there should be some nice yellow tail snapper and mangroves too. So if you would like to come along with Capt.
